MAY 6 | CYBER THREAT TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
A large-scale online attack has been threatened against financial institutions and other organizations throughout the United States for Tuesday, May 7th. Community Financial Credit Union has security experts closely monitoring the situation and security contingency plans are in place.

While it is unlikely that CFCU will be affected by the attack, should a disruption to online banking occur, please be assured that it affects online access, only. Your confidential information remains safe and secure.

MAR 28 | SCAM ALERT!
A member received an email that appeared to be from Visa but when looking a little closer, it was clear that it wasn’t. The email says it is from “Verified by VISA/Master Card Secure Code” but the actual email address is: service@in2@service.com).

The email states:  “Your card has been temporarily suspended due to too many fraudulent online attempts.”  The email then has a “click here” button that, when clicked, asks for personal information such as name, account number, card number.

This is information that we already have on file and we won’t ask for it online. Should you receive an email (text or phone call) asking for this kind of information, your best response is to delete it and contact us directly.

We think that everyone in Missouri should be able to enjoy the benefits of credit union membership. To help spread the word, we are participating in Bank On More, a statewide consumer outreach campaign presented by credit unions in Missouri and the Missouri Credit Union Association.
